Privacy policy

Account details. Your email address, username and a hashed password (we never store the password itself). Optionally a display name, bio, profile picture and cover picture.

What you add. Replicas, parts, fitment reports, votes, comments, builds and their photos, wishlists, flags and feedback you send, and the private messages you send and receive.

Technical data. A sign-in cookie, and your network (IP) address, which we use to limit abuse such as repeated sign-in attempts and mass posting. We don't run advertising or analytics trackers.

Moderation records. When moderators act on your content or account, we keep a log of what was done and why.

• to run your account, sign you in and show your profile, builds and contributions;
• to build the compatibility index and credit the people who add to it;
• to deliver messages and notifications, including replies to your feedback;
• to keep the site safe: moderation, spam and abuse prevention, and enforcing the terms;
• to answer you when you contact us, and to fix and improve the site.

• Your username, display name, pictures, bio, public builds, reports and comments are public. You can hide your profile from public lists in your account settings.
• Your wishlist is private unless you choose to show it.
• Private messages are visible only to you and the person you wrote to. A message is shown to moderators only if someone reports it, and then only the reported message.
• Your email address is never shown to other members.

Moderators and admins can see account details such as your email, role and moderation history so they can run the site.

We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We use service providers that host the site, store its database and files and deliver it to you, and they handle data only to provide those services. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the site, its members or others from harm.

We use one cookie that keeps you signed in, and it is needed for the site to work, so it doesn't need a consent banner. Preferences such as a remembered filter may be kept in your browser. Deleting the cookie signs you out.

We keep your account and what you added for as long as your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire. Abuse-limit records are used only to apply those limits. Moderation logs are kept so the team can see who did what.

When an account is deleted, its personal details, messages, builds, reports, comments, wishlist and notifications are removed. Items in the shared index, such as replicas, parts and compatibility records, may remain without being tied to you.

You can edit your name, bio, pictures and privacy settings from your account at any time. You can also ask us to:

• give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
• correct something that is wrong;
• delete your account and personal information (you can also do this yourself from your account settings);
• stop using your information in a particular way.

Make a request through the Feedback button on any page. We may need to confirm it is you. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Passwords are stored hashed, connections to the site are encrypted, and access to member data is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password and tell us if you notice anything wrong.

ArmoryIndex is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will say so on the site if a change matters to you. See also the terms and conditions.
