No direct modifications are necessary to the grip or the AKX itself though need a longer 5mm screw/bolt (at least 4mm more screw thread length) to reach as the insertion point within the Magpul grip is much lower and thus farther from the screw hole in the base of the AKX.

Very good fit. The grip's beavertail sits slightly proud of the base as the latter is designed for AR-15 rather than MCX but the fit is secure enough to keep the detent spring in place.
